One thing I love about my work is the variation of it. From chic long modells in designer clothing to sports brand such as Kari Traa. I styled their exhibition space at Exporama. A huge showroom for sports wear in Norway. The theme for the collection was "Frozen Mystic", and we tried to translate this into the exhibition space. Fun, fabulous and feminine!

This exhibition has previously been installed at Steen & Strøm in Oslo, and showed Norwegian designs in the form of paperdolls.

With a focus towards active training, slow training and rainwear the label is for that active girl with plenty of attitude without loosing her femininity. I did the styling for the collection. The inspiration for the magazine was:

The next issue of SVA magazine will be The 6 Issue. The number 6 in Norway is spelled seks and pronounced similar to sex. As Sva will enter it´s sixth edition we thought this would be an interesting title with a play on many more. There is plenty of room for interpreting the "6".

A cube has 6 faces.

Insects have 6 legs.

The roman numeral VI (usually) stands for the sixth-discovered satellite of a planet or minor planet.

6 is the number of points on a star of David.

The Jewish holiday of Shavuot starts on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan.

A standard guitar has 6 strings.

There are said to be no more than 6 degrees of separation between any two people on earth.

Extra-sensory perception is sometimes called the "sixth sense".

There are 6 Cardinal directions: north-south-east-west-up and down.

The Bionic Six are the heroes of an animated series.

The number of cans in a soda or beer pack is 6 - called a six pack.

A six pack is also the expression of a well toned human abdomen where the muscles are visible.

6 feet under is usually how deep a coffin is buried, thus, the phrase " six feet under" which means that a person, thing or concept is dead.

As part of the window exhibition at Steen & Strøm, SVA Magazine wanted to promote Norwegian fashion further by doing a series of interviews with Norwegian designers. I was the hostess of these casual interviews, so-called "artists talks" at the centre. Amongs the interviewed was Veronica B. Vallenes, Bjørg Nordli-Mathiesen from Bjørg Jewellery, John from Johnny Love, Peter Løchstøer, and Kjersti Vatle. For the last talk we spoke to Gisle Mariani-Mardal, the chief of Norwegian Fashion Institute (NFI).

Fashion Days at Steen&Strøm

I wanted the window exhibition at Steen&Strøm to read as a magazine when you walked around the building. The focus was Norwegian Design, SVA Magazine and NFI with a Steen&Strøm collaboration. We decided to do a fashion shoot with clothing from the fashion house using beautiful Frida as model (published below). The fashion editorial where to hang between and around styled mannequins, illustrated wallpaper and paper dolls featuring Norwegian designers. I made several illustrations being inspired by Norwegian designers such as Kristian Aadnevik, Mardou & Dean, T/Michael, Veronica B. Vallenes, Johnny Love, Kjersti Vatle and Nina Skarra.

Worst Case Scenario 2050. As our next theme for SVA #5 took shape, Svein Bringsdal approached me with an idea for a photoshoot. What is the worst that can happen? How can we translate this visually? The next theme was futurism, and we wanted to explore this every way imaginable. It is meant to provoke. It is mean to cause a reaction. And it is to be taken seriously. We spent the day in a scrapyard, and boy where those models in pain!

When I saw the pictures I was so tempted to give them a textural illustrative finish. It worked so well, and is now for everyone to enjoy in SVA magazine.

SVA in motion @ RAFF design 2010

For Raff 2010 SVA wanted to show SVA in motion. A concept that has previously been showcased in Oslo, this time it was for the people of the west to enjoy. SVA in motion, or fashion in motion show films with a different take on fashion rather than a photo still or a catwalk podcast. The films embrace moods and feelings from serene and calm to blunt and provocative.

SVA had a gallery all to themselves at Bryggen in Bergen. We curated the room with my illustrations, a huge flatscreen and dvd, and all the back issues of SVA hanging in chains from the ceiling.

RAFF design 2010

Bergen design weeks was launched today featuring some of the fabulous creative talent that has its background from the west. Raff design includes all types of design, but focuses on the person behind it, the person who makes the design. London based designer Christian Aadnevik shipped over a few of his creations to represent him during the event, and I was so lucky to make his window.... For Christian´s window I wanted to mix the rough with the glamourous. I´ve collaged two mannequins as I wanted to use dolls for his dresses, but not in the traditional sence. The collaged dolls are raw and different and makes the dresses stand out as tributes to design and haute couture.

So Christian Aadnevik @ RAFF 2010 exhibited in NOVA.

Welcome to a week-long design and fashion event in Bergen, Norway, August 30^th to September 5^th! Bergen`s own design and fashion week, Raff Design 2010, is proud to present both established designers and new talent in the Bergen area. We`re happy to invite both design and fashion professionals, as well as the general public, to a week of exhibitions and events all over the city. The exhibitions will show quality work from a diverse design community, and there will be workshops and seminars as well as parties for the fashion and design-savvy. Our goal is to raise awareness of the impact that design has in the Bergen area, to be a meeting place for both established and aspiring designers as well as an inspiration for young people wanting a career in design. Raff Design 2010 will help put Norwegian designers on the map.

I have been working with both concepts for a while now, which is fantastic as they leave me in total charge of how both shop´s display their spring/summer collections of 2010.

Sva magazine was asked by Steen & Strøm to do their window exhibition in February. Steen and Strøm is probably the most prominent fashion-warehouse in Norway and is located in the senter of Oslo.

Sva magazine wanted to launch their new concept in the windows; SVA in motion. The concept features scandinavian fashion films from a variety of very talented photographers and filmmakers focusing on fashion in motion.

Sva asked me to help them set up the exhibiton and to do some fashion in motion related illustrations to go in the windows. Together with beautiful photos by Svein Bringsdal they now decorate the windows together with dolls and 12 flatscreen tv´s.

Guro is a fabulous 16 year old, who trains rhythmic sports gymnastic. On top of being a fantastic performer she is also 184 cm tall with the longest legs ever!

Bent and I got her in the studio to do some test. She delivered!

Nordic Tenors together with Sjur Hjeltnes is a phenomenon that took Bergen and later Norway by storm four years ago.

Nordic tenors is three guys, tenors, off course, and Pianist Sjur Hjeltnes.

For their new show in Bergen; Orangeriet together with photographer Magne Sandnes and myself, made new profile images to promote their new CD and show Live at Logen.

The photoshoot...

Siv Støldal, the quirky London based mens wear designer, has moved back to her roots. Taking her family with her she has packed her stuff and gone home to a little island called Tyssøy outside Bergen, Norway.

T.Michael, mens wear designer and tailouring chic. Lives in Bergen, Norway. But is originally from Ghana and London.

Together, they´ve opened a shop. Not any shop, but a shop that will be open for three weeks only, or while the stocks last.

They will be selling designer items at steal away prices. Onboard they´ve got designers such as Azumi and David "a´n´d", Roksana Illinic, Michelle Lowe Holder and Norway´s own Norwegian Rain, Arne & Carlos and off course: some of Michael´s and some of Siv´s.

Bent René Synnevåg and Myself got together a couple of girls and a boy and took some pictures in the days before the event.

Sundt fashion makes the dolls dimensional. The pretty faces of the mannequins has been transformed into harsh black lines glued on the window. They are surrounded with organic tree-shapes and geometrical colourful bubbles.
